During normal chewing, small bristle-like projections will be raised, which help clean teeth. Small shavings (no larger than a grain of rice) should pass through. If you think your dog swallowed a large piece, take the product away and contact your veterinarian. Inspect before giving to your dog to make sure it is whole and intact. Check frequently & replace if damaged, ends are worn down, or if it becomes too small to chew safely.
